新日光能源科技公司在台南地区规划的3400兆瓦电池片厂目前已动工开始建设,建成后将成为世界上最大的电池片生产基地。公司拟在未来三到四年内将该厂电池片产能在提高至4200兆瓦。 Neo Solar Power held a ground-breaking ceremony for a 3.4GWp solar cell production plant in Tainan in southern Taiwan. When completed, the facility is expected to be the world's largest solar cell plant, and the Taiwan-based company has plans to ramp up overall capacity to 4.2GWp in the next 3-4 years, making it a top-three solar cell maker globally, according to company chairman Quincy Lin. Neo Solar's capacity is at 620MWp currently and will expand to 800MWp at year's end. The Tainan plant will be Neo Solar's third solar cell facility, and will also serve as its main operation base in Taiwan. Regarding price trends for solar wafers and solar cells, Lin pointed out that prices have already reached a high point with little room for growth, but with strong demand persisting, prices are unlikely to fall at the moment. On the rise of material costs, Lin indicated that 25-30% of Neo Solar's material supplies are by previous contract agreements. For non-contract procurement, the company is working with long-time suppliers and hence it is seeing little quote fluctuations. Neo Solar is at present purchasing polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) on the spot market at an average of US$50-55/kg, Lin added. |
